12 people missing in Turkey after mudslide

Authorities have urged the public to be vigilant amid persistent rains in Turkey’s Black Sea region.
In the north-east of Turkey, mudslides have come down due to heavy rains in parts of Giresun province. Twelve people were missing as a result of the disaster, Anadolu reported on Sunday, August 23. According to him, rescue work does not stop.

“Let’s hope that the missing will be found,” Soylu said, urging the population to be vigilant amid the ongoing rains in Turkey’s Black Sea region.

Meanwhile, the governor of Giresun province, Enver Unlu, reported the discovery of the body of one of the missing persons.

“One of the residents of the town of Espie, two were injured,” the governor said, adding that a number of local roads were destroyed by mudslides and landslides.

A landslide was reported in southern India, killing at least 43 people.

Earlier in Australia, landslides due to powerful surf washed away into the ocean several elite houses. Residents were evacuated.
