13 tons of marijuana confiscated in Morocco

Moroccan police confiscated 13 tons of marijuana near the country’s largest city of Casablanca. This is reported by Xinhua with reference to the General Directorate of National Security of Morocco on Saturday, August 22.

It is noted that law enforcement officers found a large consignment of drugs in two cars in the suburb of Casablanca and detained a 39-year-old man suspected of involvement in an international drug gang.

Police are continuing to investigate the case.

It is indicated that in some parts of Morocco there is a difficult situation with the illegal cultivation of cannabis. According to police, most of the local marijuana is smuggled into Europe.

Earlier it was reported that more than seven tons of marijuana were confiscated near the towns of Fez and El Jadida in Morocco.

Recall, in New Zealand found an underground bunker with a large batch of marijuana. Drugs were valued at 5 million NEW dollars (almost $3.2 million).
