U.S. comments on breakdown of talks with DPRK

The U.S. delegation will return to Sweden in two weeks to continue negotiations with the North Korean side.

Representatives of the U.S. State Department spoke about the past talks with the representative of the DPRK, during which the North Korean delegation interrupted the meeting and left it.

The diplomatic meeting, attended by North Korean Foreign Minister Kim Myung-Gil and Special Representative for the DPRK Stephen Bigan, was held in Stockholm.

The State Department said that Gil’s statements do not reflect the real content of the negotiations, and noted the constructiveness of the meeting.

It is specified that the American representatives accepted the invitation of Sweden to return to the country in two weeks and continue negotiations with the North Korean side.
