Earthquake hits Kazakhstan

The epicenter of the 5.5 magnitude earthquake was 140 km southeast of Almaty in the Kegen region.

An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 occurred in the Almaty region of Kazakhstan, the press service of the regional emergency department said on Wednesday, October 9.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located 140 km southeast of Almaty in the Kegen district of Almaty region.

According to rescuers, aftershocks of three points were felt in the village of Satty, two points – in Almaty.

There were no reports of damage or casualties.

Recall, on September 26 in Indonesia there was an earthquake of magnitude 6.5, which killed at least 20 people.

Also, a powerful earthquake occurred in Pakistan. Thirty-seven people were killed and more than 500 injured there.
