Usually the federal regulator follows their recommendations
Invited experts from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will meet on December 10 to decide whether to use the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech.
On Friday, November 20, Pfizer and BioNTech filed an application – the first application to certify a vaccine that could potentially protect against COVID-19.
FDA head Stephen Hahn released a statement indicating that the FDA will review the application as quickly as possible, but that he cannot predict when the decision will be made.
The FDA is not obliged to follow the recommendations of the experts involved but usually follows them.
