More than a thousand volunteers participated in clinical trials
Tests of the Russian coronavirus vaccine in the United Arab Emirates have shown its effectiveness at 91.6 percent, the government said in Abu Dhabi.
The trials will move into the scientific data collection phase after 1,000 volunteers in the UAE received their second dose of the vaccine.
The results obtained in the UAE will be combined with data from other countries, the report said. Interim results will be published in April.
The medical journal Lancet confirmed the effectiveness of the Sputnik V vaccine in a peer-reviewed publication in February.
More than a thousand volunteers have taken part in clinical trials in the UAE.
The UAE government said it is also partnering with the Russian Direct Investment Fund to test a combination of AstraZeneca and Sputnik V vaccines.
