Media: US base near gas field in Syria attacked by missile attack

The US military base in the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor came under rocket fire today, March 23. As a result of the attack by an unknown group, several American soldiers were injured, according to the Beirut-based pan-Arab television station Al-Mayadeen.

According to him, “unidentified missiles” attacked a US military base near the Konoko gas field, located in the northern part of Deir Ez-Zor. Other details of the incident were not provided.

Official confirmation of the missile attack by the Pentagon and representatives of the United States-led coalition in Iraq and Syria has not yet been reported.

As reported by topnews, the US Armed Forces have been intensively strengthening their bases in northeastern Syria since September last year, transferring additional armored vehicles and military supplies from northern Iraq. In recent weeks, new convoys of heavy equipment and covered trucks have been arriving in the areas in the east of the Arab Republic controlled by the militants of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF, the leading role in its composition is played by the Kurdish People’s Self-Defense Forces) areas in the east of the Arab Republic.
