A criminal case has been opened in Ukraine against former President Petro Poroshenko

A criminal case has been opened in Ukraine against former President Petro Poroshenko. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a statement by the head of the state bureau department Vadim Priymachok.

It is noted that the ex-head of the state received a written message about the suspicion of criminal proceedings.

The document indicated that he was suspected of providing an illegal order that provoked the then head of foreign intelligence, Sergei Semochko, to exceed his official authority.

In April 2019, Poroshenko removed Semochko from his post.

Currently, the state bureau is preparing a petition for the application of preventive measures against the ex-president.
