A dangerous explosive device, presumably a sea mine, was found on a popular American beach. Writes about this Fox News.
Mine was nailed to the beach at Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. According to local law enforcement officials, the explosives were found about 30 miles (48 kilometers) north of Miami.
After local sheriffs deemed the device a military bomb – possibly a training bomb – a demining squad and US Air Force personnel arrived at the scene. The device is said to be labeled “US Navy property” and “neutral”. At the same time, the mine could still explode or was already involved in the exercise.
Soon, the device was still considered safe and removed from the coastal zone.
In August 2020, a mine was found on the beach of the Ukrainian resort of Chernomorsk. The shell was found by accident during a divers’ training dive. At this time, the beach was crowded with vacationers.
