An unknown vehicle broke into the U.S. Embassy in Moscow.

Today, September 18, around 16.20 Moscow time, an unknown vehicle broke into the residence of the U.S. Ambassador in Moscow “Spaso-House”. The representative of the embassy Rebecca Ross said that a Russian citizen was driving the car.

“He was detained by embassy staff and handed over to local authorities. Ambassador John Sullivan was not at home at that time. No one was injured,” Rebecca Ross wrote on her Twitter page.

The press service of the Moscow Interior Ministry reported that the participant of the incident – the driver, born in 1976 – was drunk. He was sent for medical examination and there were no victims.

“Today about 16:25 a man, driving an SUV, hit the fence gate of the building in the area of house number 10 on Spasopeskovsky Lane. Police officers detained the driver at the scene. His identity has been established,” the head office said. – The police are checking and investigating all the circumstances of the incident.
