Another record – bitcoin crossed 57 thousand dollars

On Saturday, February 20, bitcoin again broke all records. During the trading session, the cryptocurrency rose to $ 57,000.

As evidenced by the trading data on the site Coindesk, this morning bitcoin rose to $ 56,360 thousand, after which there was a slight correction and its price fell to $ 55,800 thousand.

However, by 14:14 the cryptocurrency had already reached $ 57,000 and by 14:52 it had grown even more – to $ 57,319 thousand. The maximum for today is $ 57,476. At the time of writing, the price after a slight correction was $57,352.

Recall that a new wave of growth of the cryptocurrency began in December when bitcoin rose in price by 50% in a few weeks. At the end of 2020, the rate increased by 240%. In the last week, records were updated almost daily.

Bitcoin is a decentralized cryptocurrency system of the same name based on blockchain technology, which can be “mined” (emitted) by any user – a member of the system. This requires the creation of new blocks of the system.

The concept of the system was published in November 2008 by its author (or a team of authors) under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. Bitcoin has peaked in popularity only in recent years. Bitcoin’s issuance is naturally limited; at present, most of the currency is already “mined.
