Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov said that the country has an adequate response in case Armenia uses Iskander complexes in Nagorno-Karabakh.
“Unfortunately, one can expect anything from the Armenian side. It is difficult for me to comment from the military point of view on what the response will be… I am sure that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces have an adequate response,” Bayramov said.
Earlier Armenian Defense Ministry spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan said that the use of Iskander complexes and attack aircraft is possible only if it will comply with the logic of combat operations.
The situation in Karabakh escalated on September 27. The two sides accused each other of shelling.
The spokesman for the president of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, Vahram Poghosyan, reported that artillery shells were fired at peaceful settlements in Karabakh, including the capital Stepanakert, and called on the population to take shelter.
Later, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry stated that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces launched a counteroffensive operation along the entire contact line in Karabakh.
