The President said this in an interview with ABC TV channel
Russian President Vladimir Putin will face repercussions as he ordered steps to influence the 2020 U.S. presidential election in favor of Donald Trump, U.S. President Joe Biden said Wednesday. He added that this will happen soon.
“He will pay for it,” Biden told ABC TV. When asked what the consequences would be, Biden said, “You will see it soon.”
The president’s words came after an intelligence report released the day before confirmed long-standing speculation that Putin was behind Moscow’s interference in the US elections.
The Russian side stated that these assumptions are unfounded.
At the same time, Biden noted that “there are areas where cooperation is in our common interests.”
In particular, we are talking about updating the START-3 agreement.
The President noted that he knows Vladimir Putin “relatively well”. “In my experience, when dealing with foreign leaders, the most important thing is just to know… the person,” Biden said.
Speaking of Putin, Biden said he didn’t think he had a soul. Asked if he believed Putin to be the killer, the president said, “I think so.”
