Secretary of State notes the two countries' work together to strengthen NATO and protect human rights
U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken issued a statement on the U.S. decision to seek election to the UN Human Rights Council.

The United States is asking all U.N. members to support its bid to return to the U.N. Human Rights Council, from which Washington withdrew under Donald Trump, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said Wednesday.
“I am pleased to report that the United States will seek election to the Human Rights Council for 2022-2024. We humbly ask all UN member nations to support our request to return to this body,” he said in a video message to the council.
