Britain introduces two-week quarantine for arrivals in the country

Passengers arriving in the UK will have to be self-insulated for two weeks, providing the address of their stay at the border.
The UK government has decided to introduce a 14-day quarantine for all who will arrive in the country by plane. On Friday, May 8, the BBC reports with reference to British Airlines.

“The government will impose a 14-day quarantine on anyone arriving in the UK from any country other than Ireland in response to the coronavirus pandemic,” the report said.

The new cap is expected to take effect later this month.

Passengers arriving in the UK will have to be self-insulated for two weeks, providing the address of their stay at the border.

It is not yet clear how long the new travel restrictions will apply and whether arrivals who are not UK citizens can remain self-insulated in rented private housing.

Minister of Aviation Kelly Tolhurst is expected to clarify the new policy for airline and airport representatives at a conference call scheduled for Saturday.
