Restrictions will last until December 21
Bulgaria said Wednesday it will close schools, restaurants, shopping malls, and gyms by December 21 in an effort to curb the rise in coronavirus.
Restrictions will take effect on Friday evening.
With the lockdown, schools and universities will switch to online education and kindergartens will be closed.
The number of participants in private meetings will not exceed 15 people. In addition, all restaurants, bars, cafes, and night clubs will be closed. Tourist travel inside the country and abroad will be prohibited.
After the business protests, the government allowed small stores to continue operating. It is also allowed to hold sports events but without spectators. Theaters can be filled to no more than 30 percent.
