Buses and 50 injured in Belgium tunnel

The accident happened in a tunnel. According to preliminary data, two passenger buses, a truck and a car collided.
A major accident involving two buses took place in the Beveren Tunnel in the north-west of Belgium’s Antwerp. This is reported by RTBF.

As a result, one person died, five were seriously injured, 44 minor injuries.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident. According to preliminary data, there was a chain collision involving a truck, two buses, and a car.

One of the dead is the driver of the car. Another 65 people were not injured. An emergency medical plan was put in place to transport the victims to different hospitals quickly.

At the same time, the Red Cross took care of those who were present in the vehicles at the time of the accident, but who was not injured. They were also evacuated on buses. However, towing mutilated vehicles will take a long time. The Beveren Tunnel will remain closed for an indefinite period.

Earlier it was reported that in the Dnipropetrovsk region the bus driver with children died at the wheel. The bus with children in the cabin crossed the tram tracks, rolled down the roadway and crashed into the fence of the store under construction.
