Officer Brian Siknick injured during Capitol assault

A Capitol Police officer died Thursday night from wounds sustained during a confrontation with a crowd of Trump supporters who stormed the building the day before.

Officer Brian Siknick died around 9:30 p.m. It was reported by Capitol Police, where he had worked since 2008.

The department said in a statement that Siknick “was injured during a physical confrontation with protesters” on Wednesday.
