China and Russia reacted to US withdrawal from Open Skies Treaty

The USA leave the contract in six months. Russia and China declare their intentions to adhere to the agreements.
Russia will not withdraw from the Treaty on open skies as long as it works, said RIA Novosti Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko on Friday, May 22.

Grushko expressed hope that other countries will also be in good faith approach to their duties.
In turn, China declared that the US unilateral withdrawal from the Agreement would adversely affect the security and stability of individual regions. This opinion was expressed by the official representative of the Chinese foreign Ministry Zhao Lijiang

“We Express deep disappointment on this occasion,” he said.

According to him, Washington plans to withdraw from the Treaty shows only the obsolete views of the leadership of the United States, “continuing to think in terms of the cold war.” “This shows that the United States abandon its international obligations”, – said Zhao Lijiang.

On the eve of the US President, Donald Trump declared that the country six months out of the Treaty on open skies, which allows participants to overfly any of the other’s territory to monitor military activity.

We will remind, in December of 2017 became aware of the US intention to close Russian observers airspace over Alaska, Hawaii, and to limit the flight range.

Later Moscow had informed Washington about the introduction of a number of response limitations on open skies Treaty on 1 January 2018. The reason for this was the US charges about violations on the part of Russia.
