Fifty-six people have already died from the new type of coronavirus 2019-nCoV. This was reported by Reuters on Sunday, January 26, citing data released by Chinese authorities.
The data also show that all deaths have been recorded in China, but more than 2,000 people worldwide have been infected with the new coronavirus.
President Xi Jinping said during a meeting of the Politburo that China was facing a “serious situation” and health authorities around the world were struggling to prevent a pandemic.
Recall, in 25 provinces of China declared the highest level of response to emergencies related to public health. The total population in these territories exceeds 1.2 billion people.
The virus is known to have spread abroad, including South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, the United States, France, and Australia.
