Coronavirus causes a dangerous syndrome that affects children

In some children, the SARS-CoV-2 virus provokes a rare and dangerous syndrome. Similar patients have already appeared in several countries of the world. Having noticed this set of symptoms in a child, you should immediately consult a doctor.

We are talking about Kawasaki syndrome or a condition very similar to it. The aforementioned aliment is fraught with myocardial infarction, meningitis, and other dangerous complications. Note that the causes of Kawasaki syndrome, generally speaking, remain unknown. But in this case, this condition is observed in children with COVID-19.

As Mirror clarifies with reference to the National Health Service of Great Britain, the following symptoms are characteristic of Kawasaki syndrome:

1. Fever for five days or more.
2. Rash.
3. An increase in the lymph nodes of the neck.
4. Redness of the fingers or toes.
5. Redness of the eyes.
6. Dry and chapped lips.
7. Diarrhea.

Having noticed these symptoms in a child, you should immediately consult a doctor. The sooner treatment begins, the better.
For the treatment of Kawasaki syndrome, intravenous injections of immunoglobulins and other drugs are used.
Similar symptoms have already been reported in some children with COVID-19 in five European countries and 14 US states.
