COVID-19: half of patients recovered in Italy

195 Italians died during the day from infection, and the total number of deaths exceeded 31 thousand.
In Italy, the number of people who recovered from the coronavirus COVID-19 exceeded the total number of people infected in the country during the pandemic. This was reported by ANSA with reference to the data of the Civil Defense Service on Wednesday, May 13. Thus, according to data from 222 104 infected, 112 541 people recovered. At the same time, 3 502 people were cured in the last day, and 888 became infected. On Tuesday, 1402 new infections were reported in Italy.

Also, over the past day, 195 people died from the coronavirus (the day before – 172), and the total number of deaths reached 31 106.

The number of patients in intensive care units continues to decline – to 893 on Wednesday, compared with 952 on Tuesday and 999 on Monday.

Recall that the Italian authorities decided to prematurely begin the second phase of the relaxation of quarantine restrictions. From May 18, bars, restaurants, hairdressers, beauty salons, and other institutions will open in the country.
