The official’s illness became known back in July. First, he was treated in the capital, then in Germany. Deputy Prime Minister died at the age of 57.
Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Uktam Barnoev, who was in charge of the development of agrarian and food spheres in the government, died of coronavirus infection. He was 56 years old, the country’s mass media write.

He died on Sunday, September 20, from complications that were caused by COVID-19.

It became known at the end of July that the official had contracted the coronavirus. Barnoev was treated in one of the private clinics of Tashkent, and then – in Germany.

According to the latest data, 51 235 cases of coronavirus were detected in Uzbekistan, 429 people died and 47 271 recovered.

The tenth lethal case of COVID-19 was registered in the Supreme Soviet of Uzbekistan. An employee of the Higher School of Economics in the Khmelnitsky region died from coronavirus.
