For example, it takes only 10 minutes to charge it instead of hours! During this time, which is hardly more than it takes to drink a cup of coffee in a cafe, the battery is charged from 0 to 100%, and its capacity is enough to provide a range of up to 400 km.
Other distinctive features of the innovative development were its resource and dynamics. According to the declarations of the developers, the battery can provide a run of not less than fantastic 3 200 000 kilometers. The dynamic characteristics of the new battery also impress – the time of acceleration to a speed of 100 km/hour will take only 3 seconds. It is quite comparable to what only premium cars can offer now.
The EV battery is based on iron and lithium phosphate (LiFePO4) and is safer than existing models. It is targeted at the mass sector and could become a commercially successful project. It is supposed to help overcome the stereotype of the short-range of electric cars – people are afraid that an electric-powered car will simply stop and they will not have a chance to charge the battery, or it will be associated with other problems.
