In the Bundestag, activists scattered leaflets and shouted slogans a few meters from Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Activists from the environmental movement Extinction Rebellion and the youth movement Jugendrat staged a protest rally in the Bundestag on Thursday. The video is posted on Facebook.
Leaflets scattered and shouted slogans a few meters from Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The action was timed to coincide with the forthcoming vote on Friday under the Law on the cessation of the use of fossil coal, which provides for Germany to withdraw from coal energy by 2038.
Activists consider this a too late date, part of which calls for the closure of thermal power plants on coal by 2025.
Earlier it was reported that in Paris environmental activists in lingerie chained themselves to a metal fence in front of the French Ministry of Economy.
It was also reported that eco-activists dug up a lawn in Cambridge in protest. They believe that the institution is involved in the “climate and environmental crisis.”
