Kyiv claims human rights violations in Crimea
The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) is ready to partially consider a complaint “Ukraine against Russia” in connection with Kyiv’s statements about human rights violations in Crimea, the Strasbourg court has said.
This is said in a statement from the Strasbourg court.
“The court considers itself unqualified to rule on whether, under Russian law, the incorporation of Crimea into Russia was lawful from the standpoint of international law,” the ruling said.
“The complaints filed by Ukraine against Russia concerning human rights violations in Crimea are partially admissible for review,” the statement said.
The court will decide on the merits of the complaint later, the ECHR said.
