Fans of the American TV series “The Simpsons” again found signals “from the future” in the cartoon. This time the cartoon, released 16 years ago, features the new Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris.
The first woman in U.S. history to become vice president is dressed for the swearing-in just like Lisa Simpson in an episode of The Simpsons. They both wore a purple suit and white beads around their necks. The new “hello from the future” sparked unprecedented interest on social media.
“I think the entire future of the United States is written for ‘The Simpsons'”; “‘The Simpsons’ is starting to scare me”; “Hey, maybe Kamala watched ‘The Simpsons’ and got inspired?”
EADaily reminds us that the animated series, which has already become part of American pop culture, has 690 episodes. The most ominous prophecy of “The Simpsons” is considered a hint at September 11, 2000. The series, released in 1997, has a promotional brochure with the date of the tragedy as “9.11,” with the 11th month depicted by silhouettes of the twin towers.
Going back to the Kamala Harris episode, then, judging by the script, the main character’s sister Lisa Simpson later becomes (!) president of the United States. So maybe there’s still more to come.
