FBI accuses China of cyber attacks on COVID researchers

The FBI announced the hacking of American organizations conducting research in the field of coronavirus.

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation has accused China of attempting to illegally obtain information on coronavirus studies conducted by American organizations, the FBI press service said.
The most likely targets for cyber attacks were identified by the healthcare, pharmaceutical, and COVID-19 research companies.

“The FBI is investigating the hacking of US organizations conducting research in the field of COVID-19 committed by cyber-related individuals and data hunters related to the PRC. These individuals were seen in attempts to identify and illegally obtain valuable intellectual property data and public health data related to vaccines, treatment, and testing, “the statement said.

Additional technical details regarding the threat from China, the FBI promised to publish in the coming days.
Recall that the White House intends to hold the Chinese Communist Party accountable for the spread of coronavirus worldwide.
Also, US President Donald Trump said that China could face consequences if it is proved that he deliberately allowed an outbreak of coronavirus.
