The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has announced a reward for information on individuals who planted explosives outside the Capitol, according to the agency’s Web site.
“The FBI is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the location, arrest, and conviction of the individuals responsible for planting the homemade bombs in Washington,” the statement said.
Earlier it was reported that two explosive devices were found and defused during the riots outside the Capitol in downtown Washington. The first was found in the Capitol building complex, and the second – in the building of the National Committee of the Republican Party.
On January 6, supporters of incumbent U.S. President Donald Trump stormed the building of the U.S. Congress, interrupting the session at which the results of the last election were to be approved. Four people died as a result of the incident. Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser ordered a curfew. According to the latest reports, charges have been filed against 55 participants in the siege.
