Russian authorities may limit flights to Turkey for a period of a month due to the situation with Covid-19. The corresponding decision can be made as early as April 12.
This is reported by the Izvestia edition, citing its own sources in the Russian Ministry of Transport and in the two largest tour operators.
According to the newspaper, we are talking about regular and charter flights. Export and cargo-passenger restrictions will not fall under the restrictions.
Moscow does not plan to completely stop air traffic with Turkey, as in the situation with Great Britain. However, another scenario is possible – the introduction of a two-week quarantine for tourists arriving from this country.
At the same time, the Russian Alliance of Travel Agencies told reporters that so far there have been no massive refusals of travel tickets to Turkey.
True, amid rumors about upcoming possible restrictions, the number of bookings dropped by a quarter. However, representatives of the tourism industry are confident that demand will quickly recover if the restriction on flights is not prolonged.
