U.S. President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani denies that he tried to make money by lobbying for presidential pardons. He wrote this on his Twitter page.
“Claims that I have requested or received any compensation for pardons for myself or anyone else are false, defamatory, and malicious,” the lawyer wrote.
The New York Times earlier reported, citing sources, that Trump associates were trying to make money from lobbying for presidential pardons. The publication claimed that as Trump prepares to leave office in the coming days, the lucrative pardon market is approaching its peak, and some of his allies are collecting fees from wealthy criminals or their associates to push the White House for pardons.
