Ukrainian diplomat Andriy Melnyk considers the words of German politician Gerhard Schroeder an insult to all Ukrainians.
Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany Andriy Melnyk reacted to insults from the ex-chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schroeder. This was stated by the diplomat in a commentary on Crimea.
According to the ambassador, Schroeder “whitens his battered image in Germany” with the help of a podcast, but this will not help him. The diplomat also called the ex-chancellor the cynical lobbyist of the Kremlin. “Instead of giving German society an honest answer to the question of whether his position depends on the Gazprom-Rosneft fees, he loses his self-control, switches to personality, resorting to a dubious vocabulary,” Melnik said.
The Ukrainian diplomat said that in German the word “Zwerg” (which Schroeder used to insult Miller) has several meanings.
“For some reason, it is hardly believed that the podcast mentioned precisely” a small creature in human form, which appears in fairy tales and sagas and is basically ready to help. ”
The ambassador says that judging by tonality and context, Schroeder meant “dwarf.”
“However, it does not refer to the personality of the ambassador. It is a question of impudent humiliation of Ukraine and Ukrainians,” the ambassador said.
As the Correspondent wrote, ex-Chancellor of Germany Gerhard Schroeder, who is the head of the board of directors of Rosneft, insulted the Ukrainian ambassador to Berlin, Andrey Melnik, calling him “some dwarf from Ukraine”
