The country has a record number of new COVID-19 cases, but educational institutions have decided not to quarantine.
In Hungary, 718 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in a day, which is a record number. It was reported by 444.hu on Friday, September 11.

The number of active cases today is 6264, 43% of which were recorded in Budapest. The hospitals treat 259 patients with coronavirus, 12 of which are on IVL machines.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 10,909 cases of coronavirus and 631 deaths among infected people have been registered in the country.

In turn, Prime Minister Victor Orban stated that the government will not impose school closures, but will seek to protect the most vulnerable elderly people. The second wave of the pandemic requires a different strategy than the first, Orban said.

“The goal now is not for everyone to sit at home, for the country to reach a dead end. The goal is to protect the country’s ability to continue working,” the prime minister said.

Recall that earlier Ukraine has updated the red and green lists of countries. The red zone included 46 countries with an increased number of active coronavirus cases.
