In Austria, the number of deaths after vaccination against COVID-19 rises to 55

The number of deaths after vaccination against COVID-19 in Austria has increased to 55, the connection with the vaccine has not been established, follows from the data of the report of the Federal Office for Health Security of the country for the reporting period from December 27, 2020, to March 26, 2021.
Last week, the agency reported in a report that 51 people have died in Austria after being vaccinated by Pfizer / BioNtech.
A total of 17,280 reported side effects were reported in Austria during the reporting period. During this time, 1,489,789 vaccinations were registered in the electronic vaccination passport.
“The Federal Office for Health Safety was told 55 deaths shortly after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine (52 BioNTech / Pfizer, two Moderna, one AstraZeneca),” the report said.
In the case of four patients, the vaccine-related death was ruled out after autopsy, the report notes. Another 16 people were vaccinated during the incubation period of coronavirus disease, during which they died. Another 23 people had serious illnesses, which, presumably, led to death. The circumstances of the death of another 12 people (10 BioNTech / Pfizer, one Moderna, one AstraZeneca) are still being established. While there is no indication of a link to the vaccine, research is ongoing.
Vaccination with BioNTech / Pfizer vaccine was given 1,049,927 times, 4288 reported side effects (4.08 per thousand vaccinations), Moderna – 92 920, 443 reports (4.77 per thousand vaccinations), AstraZeneca vaccine – 346 942, while reports of adverse reactions were recorded 12,549 (36.17 per thousand vaccinations).
The coronavirus vaccination began in Austria last December.
