This earthquake in the Aegean Sea has caused significant destruction and death of people on the territory of two countries.
On Friday, October 30 on the Greek island of Samos a wall collapsed as a result of this earthquake, which killed two children. Also, two people were pulled out from under the rubble, reports The National Herald.
It is noted that two children crossed a narrow street in the city and at that moment the wall collapsed on them.
The emergency services that arrived at the scene removed a young man and a girl from under the rubble.
According to the ERT-1 TV channel, two young men aged 15 and 17 died.
It is also reported that in Turkish Izmir the number of victims of the earthquake has increased to 12. At least 419 people were injured. Rescue and search works are continuing in the debris.
As it is known, relations between Turkey and Greece have become very strained recently, however, the authorities of the two countries have exchanged condolences and expressed readiness to render assistance in connection with this earthquake, which affected both countries.
It should be recalled that in the city of Izmir, which became the epicenter of shocks, at least 20 houses were destroyed. Earlier it was reported about six dead. It was also reported that the epicenter of this earthquake with magnitude 6.6 has happened in the region of Seferihisar at the depth of 11.8 km.
