In Israel, found dead Chinese ambassador

Du Wei was appointed ambassador and arrived in Israel in February. He previously represented China in Ukraine.
Chinese Ambassador to Israel, Du Wei, was found dead Sunday morning on the outskirts of Tel Aviv in his home. Previously, he held a similar position in Ukraine, the BBC reports citing a statement by a police spokesman on May 17. But Israeli Channel 12 claims the ambassador passed away in a dream from natural causes.

Du Wei was appointed ambassador and arrived in Israel in February of this year. He previously represented the PRC in Ukraine.

According to the Air Force, on May 15, the Chinese Embassy in Israel sharply reacted to criticism of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who during his visit to Israel negatively commented on Beijing’s steps to combat coronavirus.

The Chinese Embassy in the Jerusalem Post newspaper called Pompeo statements absurd and again rejected suspicions that China was hiding the true scale of the epidemic in its country.

It was previously reported that China responded to the lawsuit because of the coronavirus in Ukraine.
