In Russia, the MiG-29 fighter was stolen for spare parts

Unknowns stole more than 20 components and assemblies of the MiG-29 fighter, which had previously arrived for modernization at the Lviv State Aviation Repair Plant.

According to the Federal News Agency with reference to the Ukrainian defense portal Defense Express, the General Bureau of Investigation (GBR) of Ukraine is conducting an investigation into the theft of spare parts.

A factory representative said that the plane arrived in Lviv at the dismantling stage and was already stolen. Similar units of the MiG-29 fighter were stolen from aircraft that are located in the commandant’s office near the enterprise.

The company’s management appealed to the SBU after the theft was recorded. Part of the stolen blocks was later discovered near the territory of the plant. At the moment, all modernization of the fighter has been suspended for the duration of the investigation.
