In the Netherlands, the sender of packages with explosives requires payment of a certain amount in bitcoins. De Telegraaf reports this on Wednesday, February 12, citing law enforcement sources.

The sender of packages with explosives demanded a certain amount in bitcoins… Otherwise, new packages with explosives will arrive,” the statement reads.

It is argued that the amount required remains confidential, as disclosure could damage the investigation.

Earlier on Wednesday, it was reported that explosions had taken place at post offices in Amsterdam and Kirkrad in the morning. The bombs are believed to have been in the packages. No one was hurt.

It was also reported that two explosions occurred in Stockholm at night. They occurred in residential buildings, which are 500 meters apart.
