In the UK called to bury Nord Stream 2

Germany’s desire to complete the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline is contrary to European interests and makes the country dependent on Russian gas. This was stated by British parliamentarian Daniel Kavchinsky, who called on the kingdom to join the United States and bury the highway, reports Daily Express.

According to him, it is difficult to even assess the scale of betrayal, which goes to the office of Chancellor Angela Merkel. After all, Germany, as a country – a member of NATO, he said, directly contributes to the strengthening of Russian influence. Kavchinski emphasized that the UK was able to leave the European Union, so nothing prevents it from pursuing an independent policy. This means that the country must make every effort so that Nord Stream-2 is never completed.

Currently, the US Senate is considering a bill providing for sanctions for any work and services that would accelerate the implementation of the project. Including we are talking about companies that could ensure the work of the pipelayer, and without insurance, the vessel does not have the right to work in Danish waters.

Prior to that, there were proposals to impose sanctions for buyers of gas that will be supplied through Nord Stream-2, if it can still be completed.

Washington pressure comes up against opposition from Germany. In particular, the head of the German government’s energy committee, Klaus Ernst, warned that Berlin could impose fines on liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States if the sanctions take effect.
