The United States began to release a new model of anti-tank missile systems (ATGM) Javelin. Its production began a joint group of companies Raytheon – Lockheed Martin. This is stated in a press release published on Wednesday, May 6, on the Lockheed Martin website.
The new complex was named Javelin F-Model (FGM-148F).
It is noted that experts equipped the ATGM with an advanced warhead capable of penetrating armor with dynamic protection, as well as destroying light armored vehicles. Lockheed Martin said the Pentagon has already placed an order for 45,000 new Javelin.
Earlier it was reported that the US Department of Defense signed a contract with the Raytheon group of companies – Lockheed Martin for the production of Javelin anti-tank missile systems for Ukraine.
And in January it became known that Ukraine for the first time directly purchased Javelin complexes from the United States in the amount of $ 36.5 million.
