India - the record holder for the number of COVID-19 infections per day

India has broken the record for the daily increase in new coronavirus infections on the planet. More than 78,000 infections have been recorded in the country.
The Ministry of Health of India reported on Sunday, 30 August, that 78,761 new cases of COVID-19 had been reported in the last 24 hours. This is the world record for the number of coronavirus infections in 24 hours in one country since the beginning of the pandemic, writes Deutsche Welle.

Experts note that this number can be significantly understated, as in India the number of tests is small.

Today, India ranks third, after the United States and Brazil, in the world in terms of the number of cases of coronavirus.

Recall that a new re-infection of COVID-19 has been proven.

Earlier it was reported that infected COVID-19 migrants bit Italian doctors. During the scuffle, not only doctors but also the military were injured.
