Before the consideration in court of cases on administrative violations in the pre-trial detention facility are 258 people

Belarusian law enforcers detained 317 people for participation in unauthorized Sunday protests. On Monday, October 5th, this was reported to TOP NEWS with reference to the data of press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus Olga Chemodanova. 258 people are kept in the places of detention until the cases on administrative violations are considered in court,” she specified.

Ms. Chemodanova noted that on October 4 10 protest actions were registered in the country. “In all regional centers, except for the capital, they were not numerous: from 20 to 100 people”, – she said.

According to Chemodanova, the Ministry of internal affairs took necessary measures to maintain order and ensure public security.

“In Minsk, water cannons were used against aggressive citizens who went out to the carriageway and blocked traffic. In Vitebsk, gas was used to drive away a crowd that tried to repel a detainee, while in Grodno a drunken protester who disobeyed the police was detained,” she said.

Earlier Human rights center Vesna reported about 225 detained at the protest actions that took place on October 4 in Minsk and in other Belarusian cities.
