Johnson told Trump that he is recovering from illness

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson told US President Donald Trump in a telephone conversation that he was feeling better after his illness, and discussed cooperation in the fight against the pandemic within the G7 and G20. This is stated in a statement issued on Tuesday by Deputy white house press Secretary Judd Deere.
“The Prime Minister said that he feels better and is in the process of recovery. President Trump and Prime Minister Johnson confirmed their close cooperation within the G7 and G20 aimed at reopening the world’s economies and ensuring that medical care and supplies are provided to all those in need,” he said.
The phone conversation with Trump was the first official event in Johnson’s program since he was hospitalized on April 5 with a disease caused by a new type of coronavirus. The Prime Minister spent a week in the hospital, including several days in the intensive care unit, and has since been recovering at the Chequers country residence.
