According to the investigation, Bartomeu made deals on behalf of the club for personal profit. The company’s actions led to the departure of a number of executives due to serious allegations against them.
Bartomeu stepped down as president of Barcelona in October 2020. Elections for a new president will be held on March 7, with the candidates being João Laporta, Antoni Freixa and Victor Font.
