The famous American musician admitted that his participation in the presidential election is doomed to failure.
American rap musician Kanye West has applied to register as a candidate for the US presidency in Louisiana. This was announced on Saturday, August 22, AP reported. On the same day, ten other candidates submitted the relevant documents.
West’s choice of a state was not accidental, as in Louisiana, unlike most other U.S. states, the procedure for collecting voter signatures to register a candidate is not mandatory. All you have to do is prepare a package of documents and pay a $500 fee.
As the musician himself noted, his participation in the U.S. presidential election is doomed to failure. But he will benefit incumbent White House chief of staff Donald Trump by taking African-American votes from Democratic candidate Joe Biden.
The election of the President of the United States will be held on November 3 this year.
West reportedly announced his intention to run in the presidential race in early July. Trump endorsed his decision.
