U.S. sanctions against Rosneft’s do-black company will not affect Russia’s relations with Venezuela, Peskov said.
U.S. sanctions against Rosneft’s subsidiary, Rosneft Trading, are illegal, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday, February 19, TP reported.
“Such restrictions, which we consider illegal under international law, cannot in any way affect our bilateral relations with Venezuela. On the contrary, they are developing and will continue to develop,” Peskov said.
The day before, the United States announced the imposition of sanctions against Rosneft Trading and its president Didier Casimiro for the trade-in Venezuelan oil.
Last week, the U.S. imposed sanctions against Russian defense companies. According to Washington, Russian enterprises “violate U.S. legislation on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.”
