Lukashenko refused to send Belarusians to fight for Russia in Syria

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced his intention to do everything possible to maintain the independence and sovereignty of the republic. At the same time, he hinted that otherwise, Belarusians would have to fight in Libya and Syria.

Lukashenko said that Belarusians have created a country in which children can live, but today is the moment when it needs to be protected. According to him, “they tear us apart.”
“Some people think: now everything will fall from the sky. See that they do not go to Syria to fight in Libya, ”he said during a meeting on the new composition of the government.
It should be noted that Lukashenko, with a high degree of probability, in this case, alludes to Russia. Since 2015, Moscow has been conducting a military campaign in Syria, and Western media have repeatedly reported that there are Russian fighters of private military companies (PMCs) in Libya.
In addition, during the meeting, Lukashenko demanded that Belarus become less dependent on Russia. According to him, Minsk can no longer depend on Moscow by “50-55” percent, as it is now
