Man shot dead at U.S. protests

The victim of the shooting was a protester in Austin, and three other protesters were wounded in Louisville.
A man has been shot dead during protests in Austin, Texas, local police said.

“At about 21:52 (05:52) Austin police officers arrived at the scene… they were watching the protesters when the shots rang out. One man was found with gunshot wounds. The victim was hospitalized and his death was pronounced dead shortly afterward,” police said.

The shooting also occurred during protests in Louisville, Kentucky, the Courier-Journal reported.

Three people were wounded in the shooting and were hospitalized. The police said that all the wounded and the initiators of the shootout were members of the same radical armed group.

At the same time, in Oakland, California, protesters set fire to a local courthouse, smashed the windows of a police station and attacked police officers.

In Seattle, police reportedly rioted and detained dozens of demonstrators.

Mass riots are also continuing in Portland.
