Trump’s New York City assets include Trump Tower and Trump Plaza
The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has ordered the New York City tax agency to release information about Donald Trump’s company. The prosecutor’s office is investigating whether Trump’s company artificially inflated the value of its real estate assets to get better loan terms and whether it understated them – for the same properties – in order to reduce its tax base.
Trump’s assets in New York include Trump Tower and Trump Plaza.
Earlier, prosecutors demanded information about loans made to finance Trump’s real estate operations from at least two lenders, Deutsche Bank and Ladder Capital Finance.
This is the only criminal investigation into Donald Trump’s real estate business. The New York State Attorney’s Office is conducting an independent investigation to see if Trump’s company overstated the value of its assets.
