McLaren engineers abandoned the windshield in the Elva supercar

Cars are becoming more and more technological every year. Various innovations make you see more opportunities in the car. They give people more freedom than ever before. For example, on an Elva cabriolet, released by McLaren last year, you can easily ride with the breeze without a windshield and get the most positive experience from such a trip.

The company’s engineers found a solution that completely eliminates the glazing of the body. At the same time, the driver and passengers do not suffer at all, receiving true pleasure viewing the surrounding views not through the glass, but with their own eyes. They do not even need a helmet required in such cases. How did they do it? It’s all about aerodynamics and AAMS technology!

This moment in Elva paid increased attention. Engineers spent a lot of time and effort to make the streams of oncoming air “flow” around the seats of drivers and passengers. To do this, on the body in front of the front are several elements that are included in the work at speeds from 90 km / h. They direct the airflow in the right way.

As a result, air flows around the cabin from above and from the sides, creating a kind of air “dome”. It is not visible with the eye, but reliably protects people from wind and road dust. If the “dome” is not needed at the moment, you can turn it off. The solution is unusual and is based on accurate calculation and knowledge of aerodynamics – McLaren engineers can only applaud.
